Access 2007 FAQ

How do you enable a report or form to open in Layout View? I've converted my database to the 2007 ACCDB file format, but Layout View is not one of the view options available for my existing objects. How do I enable this?

Access 2007 includes a new view for forms and reports called Layout view. If you convert a database from a previous version up to the 2007 ACCDB format, Access does not always enable this new Layout view for your existing forms and reports. As you can see in the following screenshot, only Form View and Design View are available views for this form.

To enable a form or report to be opened in Layout view, you must first open the object in Design view. After you have the object open in Design view, open the Property Sheet for the form or report. On the Format or All tab of the Property Sheet, look for the option called "Allow Layout View" as seen in the following screenshot. Click the drop down arrow and select Yes from the list. Now save the changes to your form or report.

After you enable Layout view from the Property Sheet, Access presents Layout View as a possible view for the object as you can see in the following screenshot.
