Access 2007 FAQ
In Access 2003 you can Ctrl + Double click to open the various database objects in Design View. In Access 2007 this just opens them in Datasheet view, Form view, et cetera. What's happened to this feature?
With the introduction of the new Navigation Pane in Access 2007, there are some functional differences between this new feature and the older Database Window. The Ctrl + Double click trick does not work with objects in the new Navigation Pane.
All is not lost though, here's a great "Inside Out" tip for you: Use Ctrl + Enter to open an object in Design view from the Navigation Pane.
